    The collection is comprised of slides, clippings, and a daily journal documenting Hershey Chocolate’s plants in Oakdale, California and Smiths Falls, Canada. Howard Phillippy’s daily journal records equipment and machinery installation and production start-up at Oakdale in 1965. Additional materials include fliers, handbills, and publications relating to the 1937 and 1953 Hershey Chocolate Workers’ Local 464 labor strikes.
