James Dunlop describes the circumstances that led to him attending the Milton Hershey School in 1956. He relates his experiences at the school: farm chores; relationships with houseparents; discipline; and parent visitation policies. He recalls visits to the Theatre, Hershey Park, fishing in nearby quarries and Swatara Creek, trapping animals, student baseball teams, and house parties. Mr. Dunlop attended one year at Hershey Junior College before being transferred to HACC when the junior college closed.
Ann Dunlop describes her family’s work history with the various Hershey entities. She details her employment history which includes various secretarial positions at The Hershey Company. Additional interview topics include MHS homecoming and alumni activities, the Dearden House, as well as changes in the community and the Milton Hershey School in the latter half of the twentieth century.
