Elmi came to Hershey in 1920 from Italy at the age of 3 1/2. He describes attending Derry Township Schools, then located on Granada Avenue and in the Cocoa Inn, and the building of the Jr/Sr High School and Vocational School. Elmi describes his difficulty in getting hired at the Chocolate Factory and his first job in wrapping department. He discusses getting hired as an electrician and later as an engineer. He talks about the 1937 strike and feelings of prejudice towards Italians. Elmi describes his responsibility over the 1977 remodeling of the High Point mansion into corporate headquarters, renovating milk stations, and the Technical Center construction. Also discussed are: caddying for Mr. Hershey; designing homes on Areba Avenue and Ridge Road; attending Mr. Hershey's 80th birthday party at the stadium (1937); setting up Hershey Chocolate exhibits at the New York World's Fair (1963-64). Elmi discusses his work on Hershey Foods' Brazil partnership and comments on Brazil's unsanitary conditions.
