    Kaylor  was born and raised in Palmyra.  Traveled to Hershey by trolley or milk train. Started working in Chocolate factory in knock-out in 1937.  Describes hiring, training , supervisors, pay scales, lay-offs, working conditions and factory production, work and lunch hours, time clock, safety, equipment cleaning, work clothing, sexual harassment, women working in men’s jobs, break areas and the Ration D bar.  Didn’t join  union until 1970 and reflects on its’ impact.  Relates social activities with co-workers, the generosity of Milton S. Hershey, Milton Hershey School building a home every year and Christmas parties.
