Alexander reflects on his 42 year career with Hershey Chocolate spent mostly in the Power House. He describes the daily routine of power plant, technological changes over the years, and safety factors. He comments on working relationships between supervisors and workers, between co-workers. He recollects the Depression years as a non-Hershey resident, remembers "homeboys," the effects of World War II, affirmative action, attitude changes in the plant over the decades, and the role of the union. Alexander has been mayor of Hummelstown for 17 years.
